# Privacy on this site

> What docs.ixo.world collects, what it stores in your browser, and which third parties see a request when you use the search, the assistant or the API console.

<Note>
This notice describes the **documentation site at `docs.ixo.world`** only. It is not the privacy policy for IXO products, the Impact Hub network, or any application built on the stack — those are governed separately. For questions, email [assistant@ixo.world](mailto:assistant@ixo.world).

## The short version

Reading these docs requires no account, no sign-in and no personal information. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no cross-site profile. The site is statically generated, so most pages are plain files served from a CDN.

## What is stored in your browser

Nothing is written to your device except these, and all of them are readable and clearable from your browser's developer tools:

| Key | Store | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `theme` | `localStorage` | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark scheme. |
| `assistant-session` | `sessionStorage` | The conversation id for the Ask Assistant panel, so a reply can continue a thread. Cleared when you close the tab. |
| PostHog identifiers | `localStorage` | Analytics identifiers, described below. |

No cookies are set by this site.

## Analytics

Page views are recorded with **PostHog** (US region, `us.i.posthog.com`) so the team can see which documentation is used and which pages fail people. Views are captured on navigation; the site does not record session replays, and it does not send form contents, search queries typed into ⌘K, or assistant conversations to the analytics service.

PostHog stores identifiers in `localStorage` to count returning visitors. If you prefer not to be counted, browser tracking-protection or an ad blocker will stop the analytics script from loading; the documentation works normally without it.

## Requests that leave the site

Three features send a request beyond the CDN, and only when you actively use them:

- **Ask Assistant** sends your question, the page you asked it from, and a conversation id to an IXO agentic oracle through a proxy on this site. The proxy holds the service credential so it is never exposed to your browser. Do not paste secrets or personal data into the assistant.
- **The API console** on the [API reference](/api-reference/index) pages sends the parameters you enter — and, if you supply one, a bearer token — through the same-site proxy to the Emerging Platform API. The token is forwarded once with that request and is never stored or logged by this site.
- **Fonts** are self-hosted; **search** runs entirely in your browser against a static index, so what you type into ⌘K never leaves your device.

## Infrastructure and logs

The site runs on **Cloudflare Workers**. Cloudflare processes request metadata — IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp — to route traffic, apply rate limits and defend against abuse, as any web host does. Rate limits are applied per IP address on the assistant, API console and MCP endpoints.

## Machine-readable copies

This documentation is deliberately published for AI agents as well as people: Markdown mirrors, `llms.txt`, an [MCP server](/mcp/model-context-protocol) and an OpenAPI description. These surfaces expose published documentation only. They contain no personal data and no visitor information.
